Abstract During 2002?2003 there was an enquiry into the future of Research Assessment Exercises in Britain. Learned societies in Arts and Social Sciences who copied their submissions to the author for meta-analysis held very similar views. However these views are not strongly represented in the published report, because only a small minority of societies submitted evidence. (HRK / Abstract übernommen)
