Abstract Africa is increasingly an interesting and new frontier for internationalisation. International networks have provided an important response to the internationalisation of higher education in Africa, which has grown and manifested itself in different ways, especially in recent years. These networks have impacted higher education in different ways and have contributed to different aspects of institutional development and the internationalisation of higher education in Africa. This paper discusses these networks in Africa, with a focus on their roles, the fields in which they work and the specific regions in which they operate. The paper recognises the diversity of Africa, especially in the higher education sector, which also impacts internationalisation and international networks. (HRK / Abstract übernommen)
