Abstract This chapter identifies and analyzes a series of policy options that countries should consider in making their higher education systems and policies more sustainable both for instruction and research. In addition to traditional options such as increasing public and private funding and redesigning policies to achieve greater efficiency, it also argues that good governance is essential for sustainability. Stakeholders must have good relationships with each other for the system to work well. (HRK / Abstract übernommen)
