Abstract This article presents a framework and new model for promoting faculty engagement in internationalisation within academic departments. It can be used as a primer for university presidents, provosts, deans, senior international officers (SIOs), and department chairs to engage faculty in international teaching and research, and in so doing promote the advancement of global learning outcomes for students and the development of more complex and comprehensive scholarship for faculty. While the context for this article is US oriented, similar opportunities, including funding, are available in most well-developed higher education systems.(HRK / Abstract übernommen)
