This evening in Berlin, seven universities will receive certificates for their strategic internationalisation. The basis for the awards is the HRK-Audit "Internationalisation of Universities,” which has been advising and certifying universities on this topic for the past ten years.
The universities will be honoured during the opening ceremony of the conference “Internationalisation of teaching and learning: Practical experience from German universities” of the HRK-EXPERTISE Internationalisation project.
Hochschule Geisenheim University will be awarded a certificate for successful completion of the HRK-Audit compact. Augsburg University of Applied Sciences, the University of Bayreuth, Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Heidelberg University of Education, Reutlingen University and htw Saar - University of Applied Sciences will each receive a certificate for the successful completion of the three-year Re-Audit “Internationalisation of Universities".
The certificates attest that the universities have implemented their internationalisation process systematically and have made commitments to self-defined internationalisation objectives. The certificates honour efforts across the university to further develop their institutional internationalisation strategy and the systematic implementation of specific goals and measures. The certificates will be presented by the Secretary-General of the German Rectors’ Conference, Dr Jens-Peter Gaul.
The conference of HRK-EXPERTISE Internationalisation, will allow university leaders as well as teaching and administrative staff to exchange their experiences across disciplinary and institutional lines. The focus will be/was on the topics of ‘Multilingualism in teaching and learning practice’, ‘Internationalisation of the curricula’ and ‘Internationalisation at home in teacher education’. Discussion tables on specific topics as well as workshops with specific examples from practice will offer abundant opportunities to actively engage in discussion.
