Commenting on the decision announced today by the European Commission and the UK Government on the UK's association to Horizon Europe, HRK President Walter Rosenthal said:
" The decision announced today is very good news - for British research institutions and universities, as well as for international science relations as a whole. I am particularly pleased with this decision in view of the close and long-standing relations between British and German universities. The UK's association to Horizon Europe provides a sound framework for cooperation between European and British partners and will also substantially strengthen research cooperation with German institutions."
British universities are among the most important international partners of German universities. Currently, 229 German higher education institutions maintain 1,388 collaborations with British universities and scientific institutions (see www.internationale-hochschulkooperationen.de).
