On the occasion of the "Measures for Coping with the Coronavirus Pandemic" adopted by the Federal Government and the states, Prof Dr Peter-André Alt, President of the German Rectors' Conference (HRK), said the following today:
"All measures to control and manage the coronavirus situation will be based on the 3G rule (Geimpft, genesen oder getestet - admission only for vaccinated, recovered or tested persons) from the autumn onwards, as the universities have already included in their plans for the winter semester. This is the only way to ensure a broader return to face-to-face study in a responsible manner. As universities cannot provide free tests, I again appeal to all students and employees to get vaccinated now. The most important tool in the pandemic is and remains vaccination. The progress of the vaccination campaign will essentially determine which options for action will be available to the universities in the winter."
